MEET DR. WRIGHT
Dr. Matthew Wright, PT, DPT, OCS is the owner and founder of Kingwood Rehab & Strength. Dr. Wright is a licensed physical therapist, Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified rehab professional.
Dr. Wright graduated magna cum laude from San Jose State University with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology. During his time at San Jose State, Dr. Wright worked as a lab assistant for the biomechanics department, which is where he first began to study motional analysis of the golf swing. Following his undergraduate coursework, Dr. Wright then went on to pursue his doctorate in physical therapy at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Upon completion of his doctoral degree, Dr. Wright then completed an orthopaedic physical therapy residency with Stanford Health Care.
Dr. Wright continued to work at Stanford through their Division of Pain after having completed his residency, specializing in the treatment of both orthopaedic and chronic pain conditions. Dr. Wright then joined Texas Children’s Hospital where he has specialized in the treatment of adolescent and pediatric populations in the fields of orthopaedics and chronic pain.
Having dealt with injuries of his own that have kept him away from the golf course or out of the gym, Dr. Wright understands the level of distress and frustration that often comes from being sidelined. As someone who speaks the language and enjoys both training and golf, himself, Dr. Wright’s desire is to provide his clients with an unmatched level of care that provides tangible solutions to the problems that golfers face. His goal is that each client would become a stronger and more resilient version of themselves through intentional rehab & performance training.
When Dr. Wright isn’t in the gym or on the course, he enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on his favorite sports teams (Go Fightin’ Irish!).
